Ages 4 to 6

About the room

Twelve children and two teachers. Reading, writing and maths every morning in small groups, then the afternoon is theirs: workshop, garden, the long book. We work with the local primary schools so the move is easy.

What a day looks like

  • Reading and writing in groups of four
  • Maths with real things: blocks, scales, coins
  • Workshop, garden, story time

Every child leaves reading, and knowing the way to the garden gate.

Parents ask

Will my child learn to read?
Yes. Twenty minutes every morning in a group of four with one teacher and one book. Every child leaves reading.
How do you work with the primary schools?
We visit the local schools in spring with the children, and their teachers visit us. The move is to a known place, not a leap.
Is there homework?
No. There is a long book at story time and a garden to water. The afternoons are theirs.
Book a visit for Kindergarten

Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The program rides along to the visit form.

Come and see it

Come and see it for yourself.

A visit is forty minutes: the rooms, the garden, the kitchen at lunch, and all your questions. Tell us the room and the start you have in mind and we bring the right teacher.

When would you start? When would you start?
