How it works

  1. 01 Come and see it

A visit on a Tuesday or Thursday morning, 9:30 to 10:30, with your child. You see the rooms in use and meet the two teachers who would have them.

  2. 02 Tell us about your child

A short form: age, days you need, when you would like to start. Ten minutes. We answer within two working days with a yes, a date, or an honest place on the list.

  3. 03 Hold the place

A deposit of one month holds it. It comes off the last month's fee. No registration fee, no uniform, no list of things to buy.

  4. 04 Settle in, slowly

Two weeks of short days that get longer, at your child's pace, with you in the room for the first few. By the third week most children wave you off at the door.

We take new children in
  • September
  • January

A place that opens mid-year goes to the top of the list for that room, whatever the month.

The waiting list, honestly

The nursery usually has a list; the older rooms usually have a place within a term. We do not sell list positions and we do not hold places for money beyond the deposit.

The list is in order of the date we get your form, with two exceptions: a sibling of a child already here goes first, and a child who needs the exact days that have opened goes before one who needs different days.

Every month we write to everyone on the list with where they stand. If a place opens we call you first, then the next family if we do not hear back within three days.

The first day

  • A spare set of clothes, named
  • Wellies and a waterproof, named
  • A comfort thing from home, if there is one
  • A photo of the family for the wall
  • Nappies if you use a brand we do not stock

Everything else, meals included, is here.

Come and see it

Come and see it for yourself.

A visit is forty minutes: the rooms, the garden, the kitchen at lunch, and all your questions. Tell us the room and the start you have in mind and we bring the right teacher.

Which room?Which room?
When would you start? When would you start?
A father lifting his laughing daughter into the air in a sunny park
